Artist Statement

I have always been fascinated for the idea of capture a scene or a moment forever in time. During my childhood I used to exercise my creativity drawing, painting, organizing and doing handcraft activities. Bring movement to a static image, play with space, interaction and proportion of objects with the environment inspired me to photograph toys and miniatures.

We're living in a time where photography became more available and social media brought more visibility to any kind of content. The lack of time and the idea of consuming quantity instead of quality brings us to a society who forgot the value of the simplicity, most people don’t like to appreciate details and they also don’t reflect about the good memories objects can brings us.

In addition to natural environments, I’m using regular materials and other objects to create scenes and practical effects. Inspired by minimalist and still-life photography, and with movies and entertainment references, my art wants to explore the imagination of the spectator bringing a message in a simple and ludic way, giving live, movement and transporting the objects to another reality.
